Male musician playing concert piano

My Music

I've been musicmaking since I was little. My first orchestral performance was when I was ten years old, and I started playing cello the same year. I studied piano and cello at Western University, and earned the Alumni Gold Medal upon my graduation, where I studied with Gwen Beamish on piano, Thomas Wiebe on cello and Jerome Summers for conducting. I continued my music studies at the University of Ottawa, where I worked with Stephane Lemelin (piano) and David Currie (conducting) during my Masters degree. I conducted my first opera, Dido and Aeneas, at the University of Ottawa. I enjoy collaborating with string players, wind players and vocalists.

My favourite composers are Johannes Brahms, Nikolai Kapustin and Robert Schumann.

Please see below for some of my performances.

Arrangement of the "Godfather Suite"

I enjoy arranging music, particularly orchestral and vocal music. Here is me and my wife, violinist Nora Pellerin playing my arrangement of Nina Rota's Godfather theme.

Kapustin Prelude Op. 53, no. 17

I’m a big fan of Nikolai Kapustin’s music—it’s an amazing blend of classical elegance and jazz energy, creating a sound that’s both exciting and completely unique. Here's my take on one of his exciting preludes.

Brahms Violin Sonata no. 3, Op. 108

One of my favourite violin sonatas of all time (with me on the piano), and my sister-in-law, violinist Clare Pellerin.
